Noranda seeks Ameren rate cut to preserve smelter jobs

Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp., Missouri’s biggest electrical consumer, says Ameren is overcharging its customers. The company wants a rate cut for everyone — and a bigger rate cut for itself. Noranda said a rate cut for its smelter is key to preserving jobs at the largest employer in southeast Missouri.
